Uechi Ryu Karate-Do Events and News in Europe and the world - Seminars, Tournaments Karate - Traditional Martial Arts

The second Okinawan Karate and Kobudo International Stage with Murayama Seitetsu Sensei will take place in 8 and 9 of April 2017 in Manosque, France. The event is organized by Kenshinkan Dojo (20bd martin bret, 04100 Manosque). There will be three days of training, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The participation fees are 60 eur for the whole seminar and 40 eur for one-day participation.

Fulvio Zilioli Sensei, chief instructor of Okikukai Italy is leading one more seminar this November in the city of Rome. The seminar will be held in "Palestra del Liceo Scientifico - Francesco D'Assisi" in 12 and 13 of November 2016 and it has the support of Italian Karate Federation - FIK. The sessions will include Uechi-Ryu Karate and Kenryo Ryukyu Kobudo training.

A great Uechi Ryu Karate seminar with Bruce Hirabayashi Sensei  (8 Dan) from the USA was held at Regensburg/Germany on October 1st and 2nd, 2016. The event was organized by Paul Kronschnabl Sensei and his students of Regensburg Dojo Uechi-Ryu. The main subject of the seminar was 'Sanchin - from the inside out'. Principles about how to improve stability and transfer power through a proper body alignment, relaxed muscles and a firm rooting to the ground. About 40 participants from six different dojos (Kenyukai Bad Kissingen, Munich and Wuerzburg, Okikukai Munich, OUKA Erlangen and IUKF Regensburg) joined the event. Since there are not so many Uechi Ryu seminars in Germany during the year, this was a good opportunity for Uechi-Ryu practitioners to gather and practice together, and, to meet old and make some new friends.

Two wonderful videos were posted by Uechi-Ryu Shubukan Europe. Kansho Uechi Sensei and Kanyu Uechi Sensei, great grandchildren of Master Kanbun Uechi, are featured in the videos. In the first video, Kansho Uechi Sensei demonstrates Sanchin Kata and he is tested by his brother, Kanyu. In the second video the two Uechi brothers demonstrate the old Uechi-Ryu Dan Kumite. The videos were shot in 2009 during a seminar in Paris.

Lazare Pouchard Sensei (4. Dan), chief instructor of the AKKO (Association Karate Kobudo D' Okinawa), organizes an Uechi-Ryu karate seminar in Larçay with Shimabukuro Yukinobu Sensei (9 Dan), technical director of Uechi-Ryu Shubukan Association in Europe and France.  The seminar will take place on 3rd and 4th of December 2016 in Larçay, at Salle François Mitterrand. The training is open to children and adults.
