uechi ryu shimabukuro bookThe first book in French on Uechi-Ryu Karate-Do is finally released. Directed end edited by by Yukinobu Shimabukuro Sensei, 9th dan Uechi-ryu shubukan, Uechi-ryu representative in Europe by the Uechi-ryu Soke Association (Shubukan).

The book includes chapters like the history of Uechi-Ryu Karate, Shimabukuro Sensei's personal stories and experiences on spreading Karate, especially in France. The book also includes a lot of cultural information about karate and Okinawa (explanations of other schools / lines of karate, the geography of Okinawa, etc ...). Moreover the book contains all Uechi-Ryu Kata in detail, picture by picture, with Japanese terminology for techniques, postures and moves, and glossary with translations.

Although we didn't have the chance of a hands-on experience yet, this book looks definitely significant and is highly recommended to any reader interested in Okinawan culture, Karate and Uechi-Ryu style. Hope we see an English translation in the future.

The book is available throuth http://www.uechi-ryu.eu/ for order at the price of 35€ (30€ the book + 5€ shipping costs).

Sensei Fulvio Zilioli is the author of the first Italian book about Uechi Ryu Karate. We had the chance and honour to receive the book by Zilioli Sensei last week. In terms of content, it is all in Italian, but it still has tons of informative pictures in an overall high quality print at an excellent price. As we were informed, an English translation of the book is on the way. We are looking forward to it as well.

The content is organized in 23 chapters and 245 pages covering all the vital aspects of Uechi Ryu Karate. Jubi Undo, Uke, Kamae, Kitae, Sanchin Kata are only few of the topics covered by the book.

The book can be ordered through the publisher's web store or Amazon Italy
